THREE WAYS OF DEVELOPMENT: evolution, revolution, transformation
Why is development the main criterion for the survival of a person, family, company, society? Because, as soon as development stops, even a short pause quickly turns into stagnation and degradation. Moreover, the issue of development is relevant for any level.
It is important to consider that a stop in development and, as a consequence, degradation from a higher level, carries greater risks than from a conditionally low one. “Development is relevant for any level of development”.A high level of development of society involves the management of large masses of people, the amount of energy and resources of various types. Accordingly, if this resource turns towards entropy, then, as we understand it, the amount of damage can be critical for survival and / or irreparable. As an example – the presence of nuclear potential or chemical weapons in aggressive countries.
So it is with humans. Let’s say, a literary character, Professor Moriarty, who directed his intellectual capital to criminal activity. Or athletes from the dashing 90s who used their physical potential in the criminal sphere.
If family relationships are stagnant and they do not develop, then it is not difficult to predict further scenarios. Conflicts, quarrels, degradation or sublimation through alcohol, side relations or divorce.
If a child, for various reasons, does not develop physically, emotionally and intellectually – due to the fact that he does not have access to education, regular and nutritious food, as is often the case in disadvantaged families, especially in the poor countries of Africa, Asia, Latin America, then, of course, it will be very difficult for him to socially adapt and self-actualize in life.
If a company does not develop, then without special (non-market) preferences it will not withstand competition and will go bankrupt. This is a common truth. If the state does not create the prerequisites and conditions for the development of its citizens, national business, then the best, most active minds emigrate to other countries that are able to offer a more suitable development environment.
On the other hand, the higher the level of development of a person, company, country, the higher the level of responsibility for actions and inaction.
Developing individual aspects and not seeing the picture as a whole, society is doomed to degradation. As an example: active funding of nuclear and space programs to the detriment of socio-economic and ethical ones led the superpower to collapse. Generally speaking, humanity knows several main ways of development:
The main plus is the natural path, gradual development, when there is time to correct the course and correct mistakes. Natural adaptation to external changes. Passive role. The development driver is the external environment.
The main disadvantages are duration, “in the herd”, “not a leader”. In our age of rapid changes and accumulated critical potentials in various spheres, there is practically no time left for evolution.
The main plus is radical, rapid change.
The main disadvantage is that there are usually right and wrong. The reason is not inside, but outside. The wrong, the guilty are enemies. The price of the victory of the right over the wrong is shed blood, devastation, and a host of other losses, both political and economic.
Technological revolutions most often occur to the detriment of ethics, morality, the environment, in isolation from spiritual development. All this creates the preconditions for further degradation of the entire ecosystem.
The main plus is the ability to relatively quickly build a new world, create new rules.
A social revolution is an extreme, backup mechanism of evolution, when society ceases to develop independently at the required speed and is threatened with extinction.
An active role. The driver of development is rapid change. There is a chance for a short time limit, during which it is necessary to carry out radical changes. The main risk is that without identifying and eradicating internal causes, it will not be possible to avoid their return in an even more destructive form in the future.
TRANSFORMATION. OTHERWISE – DEGRADATION
The most difficult and at the same time simple way is transformation. Simple – because there are no enemies outside – accordingly, there is no external destruction (revolutionary path), no need to drag along in a herd or crowd (evolutionary path).
Difficult – because you need courage, strength and will to find the reason and meanings within yourself.
Courage – to dare to dive into the depths, start changes inside and take an honest look at the situation.
Will gives strength, or rather energy, for change. It concentrates the resource in the chosen direction. Without will and directional action, power goes away. Strength loves will, and will loves courage. Will gives freedom to change, and the word itself gets its second meaning in the context of freedom.
At any point in development, there is a choice, and it is personal.
