History & Description:
Founded in 1980 in the composer’s birthplace, the festival was created to revive and promote the lesser-known operas of Gioachino Rossini. It quickly became a renowned hub for Rossini scholarship and historically informed performance, focusing on critical editions and musical authenticity.
