History & Description:
The Festival Castell de Peralada is one of Spain’s most prestigious summer music festivals, founded in 1987 by Carmen Mateu and Artur Suqué. Held annually in July and August, the festival takes place in the picturesque medieval castle of Peralada, located in the Empordà region between Figueres and the Costa Brava. The 14th-century castle is surrounded by gardens and houses a casino, glass and wine museums, as well as a Gothic church and monastery.

The festival offers a diverse program, including opera, ballet, symphonic and chamber concerts, jazz, pop music, and theatrical performances. Main venues include:
- Auditorium of the Castle Park — an open-air stage for major events.
- Church and Cloister of El Carme — for chamber concerts and small-scale operas.
- Cotton Club Terrace — for more intimate performances.
