History & Description:
Founded in 2015 by Ukrainian pianist Alexey Botvinov, Odessa Classics began as a visionary festival in Odesa, Ukraine. Its mission was to become an Eastern European cultural hub akin to Salzburg or Lucerne. Since the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the festival has transformed into a pan-European event, continuing to bring Ukrainian culture to global audiences through concerts across the continent.

Features / Program:
The festival blends classical masterpieces, contemporary interpretations, jazz projects, and literary-musical collaborations. It features international stars (Gidon Kremer, Mischa Maisky, Daniel Hope, and more), emerging artists, and leading Ukrainian musicians. The programming includes works from Bach to modern composers, with a focus on Ukrainian repertoire.

Significance:
Odessa Classics is a cultural emblem of Ukraine’s resilience and a vehicle for its artistic voice in the world. It promotes cultural diplomacy, uniting artists and audiences in solidarity through music. The festival is a beacon of creative freedom, bridging traditions and new beginnings in the European concert landscape.
