Established in 1990 by Cristina Mazzavillani Muti, wife of conductor Riccardo Muti, the Ravenna Festival has become one of Italy’s premier cultural evet. Initially focused on classical music and opera, the festival has expanded its repertoire to include symphonic and chamber music, drama, ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, ethnic music, musical theatre, and fl.Held annually in June and July, the festival transforms the entire city of Ravenna into a stage for diverse performanes.
